The question of the day, right? But do you remember, like it was yesterday? I am starting to lose some of it. What an emotional day it was 10 years ago. I was in Pueblo at my Aunts house getting ready to go to school and my cousin knocked on the door and said "Jenn, the Twin Towers were hit by airplanes, they are falling down." I, at the time, had no idea what the Twin Towers were. But when I turned on the T.V. I soon knew! What a sad day, it was one of those moments where you think, this isn't really happening, is it?!? All the families who lost a loved one and the children/ babies who lost their mother or father. How heartbreaking! I went to school and we watched a bit of the news and then our professor told us to go home and spend some time with our families. Robert was working in the Springs and at the time we were only dating but when he got off he came down to see me. I remember hanging out and playing with my younger cousins and feeling a little more grateful for everything that day.
I was online and found this idea for a
Christmas wreath . I decided to try it but with red, white, and blue for a patriotic theme.
For the base I traced a 12" foam wreath I had onto a 12x12 piece of card stock, and cut some stars at 3" on my cricut with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to place as a background. (Sorry about the messy mat, just don't look at that part.)
I cut the other stars at 4 1/4" and scored and folded them according to the
tutorial.
Here is the finished product. I also hot glued some magnets onto the back since it is very lightweight and it gets really windy here.
I will always remember!!! Thank you to all the service men and woman who work so hard for our freedom.
